Parent Participation Requirements

  • TUITION: We divide the year's tuition into nine equal payments, to be paid on the first of each month.  There are no additional class fees and no scrip requirements.

  • PARTICIPATION: Parents work in their child's class once per week.  Working parents must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the school day to prepare the classroom, and be available for up to 30 minutes after dismissal to finish clean-up and discuss the day's activities with the teacher or director.  Each family is also responsible for one additional committee position such as Newsletter Coordinator, Website Committee, or Class Field Trip Coordinator.

  • MEETINGS: Members attend monthly evening meetings to conduct the business of the school, discuss classroom issues, attend parent education events, and socialize.

  • MAINTENANCE: As a co-op, we are all responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our children.  The maintenance work includes cleaning, minor repairs, and painting. For the 2009-2010 school year, each member family was required to contribute 6 hours of maintenance work per school year.

  • FUNDRAISING: Westside hosts two major fundraising events every year, a Children's Harvest Festival in the fall and a Silent Auction in the spring. For both events, each family is required to take a work shift, purchase or sell a minimum number of tickets, and provide some supplies such as baked goods, prizes, or items for the auction baskets.
